Purchase Xbox 360 Off Craigslist?

I am thinking of purchasing an xbox 360 from someone I don’t know. My problem is, where is the perfect place to meet, how can I test it so see if is working, and how do I identify whether the xbox is new or old. I don’t want to buy an old one that could get a Red Ring of death. He told me he got it last Christmas 2007, but he said he does not posses the receipt or original box. Any tips?

Your better off continuing searching for another xbox with warranty.
Trust me my friend bought a 360 at a pawn shop, it worked great but one month after buying it he had the ring of death and no receipt.
